Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a limit to how many "Areas" I can draw?
No, you can draw as many areas, shapes and paths as you need. On Pro and Teams plans, Areas can have photos in the same way that Plants and Landmarks do. There is no limit to how many you have but storage is capped per workspace for photo storage.
What happens if I hit my plant/landmark limit?
Don't worry, we won't delete anything! If you reach your limit, you'll still be able to view and edit existing records, but you'll need to upgrade to a higher tier to add new plants, landmarks or photos.
Can I change plans later?
Absolutely. You can upgrade at any time to unlock more storage or features. If you choose to downgrade, the change will take effect at the end of your current billing cycle.
How does "Public Map Publishing" work?
In the Pro and Teams tiers, you can generate a public-facing link, QR code or an embed code for your website. This allows visitors to explore your collection digitally without seeing your private notes, tasks, or precise GPS coordinates for sensitive specimens. So you only show what you choose.
Is my data locked into BotanicalMapper?
Never. We believe your data belongs to you. All plans include full export options (CSV, XLSX, and GeoJSON), so you can take your records with you if you ever decide to leave (though we'll be sad to see you go).
Is my data shared?
No. We don't share of your information with any 3rd parties. The only information shared is what you publish on your public map. All photos displayed are stripped of any gps location.
